About Doctor

Dr. Latha Kandamaran, an Indian born Barbadian, started her medical training at the Annamalai University in India in 1989. Having completed her MBBS degree and attaining honours in General Surgery she then worked as a GP/Radiology for five years until 1999.

 

Dr. Latha started off her Radio diagnosis career in the Department of Radiology at Stanley Medical College, India in 2000 and then shifted to Trinidad in 2004, where she worked for two years in the Radiology Department at Port of Spain General Hospital. Dr Latha then moved to Barbados in 2006 and joined the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a registrar and remained there for ten years gaining invaluable experience.

 

Dr Latha was appointed as an Associate Lecturer in Radiology at the University of the West Indies in 2010. In 2011, she did her Fetal Medicine Observership at Cambridge University Hospital NHS, UK. During her QEH period Dr Latha had the opportunity to act as a Consultant Radiologist and she is still an active member of the Tumor board Committee. Dr Latha went on to pursue Fellowship training in Oncology imaging at National Cancer Center, Singapore in 2015 followed by Basic Interventional Radiology at National University of Singapore. On Dr. Latha’s return to Barbados in 2017, she joined as Consultant Radiologist at Diagnostic Radiology Services before opening up her own practice in 2021. Dr Latha continues to extend her services as interventional radiologist at the Barbados Cancer Society in the highly success National Breast Screening Program.
